This is a self-guided, fully supported, 2 day cycling tour of the region, with all the rides starting and finishing at the 17th century château du Bois-Guy, which is situated in a peaceful, rural location 10kms (6 miles) north of the town of Fougères. The tour is based at the restored 17th century Château du Bois-Guy. The château was abandoned at the start of the 20th century and fell into ruin. In 1994, a new owner renovated the ground floor accommodation and one of the towers, and opened the château as an hotel and restaurant. The grounds, extending to more than 18 hectares, were also restored in the style of parks of the 17th century, including woodland and lakes.
In 2009, the château was sold to new owners, who have continued the restoration, which has now been extended to comprise of two main buildings and a chapel, with a surface area of 2,200 square metres.
The price of the tour includes a stay of three nights at the château on a half-board basis, (bed, breakfast and evening meal). Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be catered for.
